IAMSOUND presents the A3 Double Flute in THE OCTAVE OF 3

This is our first drone flute in the 3rd octave and it's HUGE! (by far our biggest flute at the moment) Even though it's big, one of our themes for the 3rd octave is going to be minimalism. We wanted to create this flute with the least amount of material possible, while maintaining it's loud / low / rich sound and ease of play.... and that's exactly what we did here! I'm so happy with how it turned out and honestly surprised by how loud it is (especially when you experiment with vocal over-toning or beatboxing into it)
This A3 Drone is tuned to 440 Hz and is our first flute in the 3rd Octave (we're in the big leagues now!)
A lot of love and energy goes into the development of these flutes (along with some flute solos while I watch them print in my basement) and I am excited to see these in the wild!

DISASSEMBLY / ASSEMBLY:
This drone flute arrives assembled in numbered pieces. Please disassemble with care if deciding to do-so for portability (slowly wiggle around the joints as you pull). When re-assembling, please follow the numbering sequence. We recommend connecting the pieces part-way by hand, and then finding a hard floor surface (either with a rug or carpet) to tap the rest of the pieces in place until they lock (rubber malot works great as well if needed). We designed it this way to ensure the airways remain tightly sealed.

It was a little hard to play at first, however, once you found the correct air. It is absolutely beautiful.
Totally understand—our flutes can take a little time to get used to, but once you find the right airflow, they really shine! Thank you for sharing your experience.
I am someone who has played so many different instruments, But I have never had any wind instrument of any kind. I'm a big fan of lower octaves and things that would be considered to be in the bass range. This A3 is amazing. It has such an incredibly warm and inviting tone. My only regret is that I can't currently afford to buy three or four more flutes! The new B3 is next on my list!!!
Hi Matt! Thank you so much for your positive review. We hope you'll be able to add the new B3 to your collection soon. Happy playing!
So fun to play and so relaxing. I play every night before I go to sleep and I sleep very well.
That’s great to hear! Glad it’s bringing you calm and enjoyment.
We appreciate you sharing your experience!

Thank you for your feedback! We're really glad to hear you're enjoying the flute. Your support means a lot to us, and we hope you continue having fun playing it!
Once NON-STICKY teflon tape was applied between the connecting pieces, it tightened up perfectly. Before adding the tape, it was loose and didn't sound right. This is common practice for interlocking flutes & a super easy issue to fix. I wrapped the joints 1.5x and had no issues. Don't add too much or it will be too fat to slide together
Thanks for the compliment on the sound! 😄
We also appreciate you sharing this tip — using non-sticky Teflon tape on the joints is a simple fix for loose connections and helps the flute fit snugly and sound right. Great advice on wrapping just enough so it slides smoothly!
