IAMSOUND presents the D5 Pocket TRIPLE Drone Flute in 440 Hz
For the 432 Hz version, Click Here.

The D5 Pocket Triple Drone is our smallest and most affordable TRIPLE drone flute! It is tuned to 440 Hz so you can have fun with it in music circles and jam sessions. It's in the 5th Octave which makes it smaller in size and higher in pitch (about half the size of our flutes in the 4th Octave). Often I choose a lower octave for ceremonial solo play, but if paired with other instruments such as sound bowls, drums, or other flutes, this is a wonderful addition!
Perfect for hikes or anywhere on the go! (be prepared to blow minds of not only fellow humans, but also the birds and wild-life waiting to dance with you). It's also a great flute to bring in your car or anywhere on the go!
A lot of love and energy has gone into the development of these flutes (along with some flute solos while I watch them print in my basement) and I am excited to see these in the wild!
LIMITED INVENTORY / Check back often for restocks + new colors
- Tuned to 440 Hz
- Made with eco-friendly materials
- Sliding airway blocks for easy moisture removal
- Rear opening for optional mic clip and/or wearable neck strap
- Very portable with connecting pieces
DISASSEMBLY / ASSEMBLY:
This drone flute arrives assembled in numbered pieces. Please disassemble with care if deciding to do-so for portability (slowly wiggle around the joints as you pull). When re-assembling, please follow the numbering sequence. We recommend connecting the pieces part-way by hand, and then finding a hard floor surface (either with a rug or carpet) to tap the rest of the pieces in place until they lock (rubber malot works great as well if needed). We designed it this way to ensure the airways remain tightly sealed.

Good flute. I like it. Is there sheet music or fingering charts for it.
Glad you’re enjoying it!
The flute is very intuitive. You can use a standard flute fingering chart if you like, and check out our tutorial posts on our social media pages for guidance and tips
I LOVE playing this little instrument! I've figured out how to play the triple and people stare at me like I have 3 heads but come from everywhere to see what's playing the music. I love the interactive conversations and curious looks.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience with us!
It truly means a lot to hear that you're enjoying your instrument and having fun eploring the triple. We love knowing that it's sparking curiosity, conversations, and joyful moments whever you play, that's exactly the kind of connection music is meant to create.
We're so grateful for your support and for being part of our community. Keep playing and enjoying every moment!
So fun to play. Sometimes sounds a little out of tune when using multiple drones
Glad you’re enjoying it! When using multiple drones, slight tuning variations can happen—usually it comes down to breath pressure and finger seal. With a lighter, steady breath and a bit of practice, everything will lock in more smoothly and sound beautifully in tune.
This is my 2nd IAS Flute, and I enjoy them both. This one was a slightly higher pitch then I expected and took some getting used to compared to my F4# drone. That didn't really take away from the overall instrument though and once I got used to it it was extremely fun to play.
Thank you for sharing! We’re glad you’re enjoying both flutes. It’s totally normal for higher-pitched instruments to feel different at first, but it’s awesome to hear you’re having fun and getting comfortable with it.
I am so happy with this flute! This is my 2nd IAS flute. This triple drone flute is easy to play especially the fingering. I prefer the lower tones of my F#4 but this is really nice. 5th octave is not piercingly high. It will cut through jams with other instruments and of course has the intuitive playing common to IAS. It's sound is happy and uplifting and addictive to play. Right out of the box I played it for an hour straight. Pay attention to the flute demo! The finger positions are unique. There are volcano rings on both sides of the flute allowing you to change the pitch of one of the drones. It takes less air than the flutes in the 4th octave but has higher tones. So think about that in deciding on your first flute. If you're a seasoned player you may be really happy with the pitch of this D5 Triple Drone. I've loved everything I got from I Am Sound and I guarantee that you will too
Thank you so much! We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It means a lot to us to know you’re enjoying the flute and connecting with it. We’re grateful for your support and are happy to have you as part of the I Am Sound community 🙏
