IAMSOUND presents the D4 Drone Flute in 440 Hz
The D4 Double Drone has been developed with a lot of care and testing over the past year! In fact, I've been working on this flute since IAMSOUND started. I remember one night on Kauai.... I was playing a D4 drone flute out under the stars at night and a shooting star went by right in my solo. It made an impact on me and here we are!
We've been working mostly on the positioning of the holes to make this large flute easy to play for most hands. It has been a difficult journey but we are finally ready with it! The holes are reachable and we even have little volcano-like rings around each hole so you can feel that they are securely pressed.
The airway has been designed to allow "just enough" air to keep those nice breathy tones flowing without fading out too fast. As much as I love the G4 and the original F#, This might very well now be my new favorite drone flute!
This D4 Double Flute is tuned to 440 Hz so you can have fun with it in music circles and jam sessions. It's in the 4th Octave and has a somewhat tall / narrow shape.
A lot of love and energy has gone into the development of these flutes (along with some flute solos while I watch them print) and I am excited to see these in the wild!

ASSEMBLY:

Excellent value and quality! A wooden drone flute can range from $450 and up. These are quality 3D printed, with really small layers, and they perform exactly like the originals.
One quick detail, the mating posts have too tight of a tolerance to the holes they fit into. It's really hard to disassemble. Perhaps reducing the post diameter by a hair, like 0.2mm, it would make assembly and disassembly much easier.
D4 Drone flute, arrived today , packaging was very thorough, was like pass the parcel getting through the layers ., this added to the great surprise of a perfectly intact Flute , quickly assembled and playing instantly, matches my Dminor Handpan perfectly, and sounds superb with my added reverb system and backing tracks .
Thanks again I Am Sound .

Good quality for the price. Covering tbe holes are a little challenging. The holes are bigger than I’m used to on flutes.
Nice sound!
