The B3 represents a new territory for IAMSOUND — a true 3rd-octave drone flute designed to deliver depth, stability, and presence while remaining comfortable and intuitive to play. It lives in a rare tonal space: lower than our 4th-octave drones, but more agile and balanced than our largest builds.
The architectural bridge-frame design enhances structural integrity and resonance, allowing the instrument to project with surprising clarity for its size. It feels substantial without feeling heavy — powerful without being overwhelming.
WHY IT HITS:
The dual-tube drone system creates a continuous harmonic foundation, while the melody pipe allows expressive phrasing on top without complex fingering. The result is immediate musical satisfaction — simple breath creates a full, layered sound. Beginners can access it quickly, and experienced players can explore breath control, tonal shading, and ambient layering with ease.

In 440 Hz, the B3 feels clear, stable, and confident. It pairs seamlessly with other instruments, live musicians, looping setups, and recorded tracks. If you’re jamming along with Spotify, harmonium, guitar, or percussion — this is your standard reference pitch.
This platform required serious engineering attention and intentional design refinement. A lot of love and energy went into bringing this flute to life (along with plenty of flute solos during the print process), and we’re excited to share it with you.

DISASSEMBLY / ASSEMBLY:
This drone flute arrives assembled in numbered pieces. Please disassemble with care if deciding to do so for portability (slowly wiggle around the joints as you pull). When reassembling, follow the numbering sequence. We recommend connecting the pieces part-way by hand, then gently tapping the rest into place on a hard surface (with a rug or carpet underneath). A rubber mallet also works well if needed. We designed it this way to ensure the airways remain tightly sealed.
